The technology works on two fronts, first water evaporates between 76 -79 degrees Fahrenheit but most importantly it is the non-woven material PVA (Poly-Vinyl Alcohol), a spongy material, that retains water but yet dry to the touch.  The Alcohol properties provide cooling for hours verses a woven fabric that may last just an hour or so.  If you are in place with a limited water source, the Xtreme Cooling Collar is perfect for keeping you cool while everyone else overheats.
