Congratulations on purchasing your new Shun Pro Knife. This handy guide will instruct you on the myriad uses for your Shun Pro II Deba or Shun Pro Yanagiba knife.
When using your new knife for the first time, please note that the sharp, or “blade” side should be used for cutting only. Do not attempt to hold the knife using the blade side. Instead, hold on to the ebony-black Pakkawood handle. The handle on your knife is D-shaped, and will fit your hand perfectly regardless of which hand you use.
Note that the D-shaped handle will not work correctly with feet.
Your Shun knife should provide excellent response with slicing, chopping, or dicing motions. While stabbing or puncturing may feel temporarily satisfying, please note that it is not an effective or safe use of your Shun knife.
Be sure to keep fingers, toes, small pets, and loved ones clear of the blade at all times. Failure to do so may result in litigation and heartache.
