But after shooting for 4 grueling hours in the wilds of that grass median over on Flora Place, here it is. My masterpiece. My magnum opus. The ultimate unflinching look at the scars of battle on a pony’s soul. I call it Full Metal Jacket But With My Little Pony Toys Instead Of People. You’ll never forget the searing, definitive portrayal of the troubled Private Pyle – I mean, I knew Staralee was good, but we’re talking Oscar here.
Of course, a director’s equipment must match his sensibilities. So I shot exclusively with the DXG Pink 5.1MP Digital Camcorder. I probably could’ve found a camera with better specs than the DXG Pink’s 640×480 resolution, 25 fps, and 4x digital zoom. It’s not easy shooting battle scenes under those conditions, but no other camera had the essential quality I needed for a complete pony experience – the pink chassis. Believe me, you can see it in the finished product, even if you can’t see much of anything else.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m due at a story conference with Silvershine and Flutteroo. All I can say is, if you think Costner and Connery and DeNiro nailed The Untouchables, get ready for the pony ride of your life.
