With the KXT7020BK-RB Portable LCD TV, Haier brings the world the first disposable TV. Not that it was built to be disposable – but it will be in February 2009, because it can’t receive those government-mandated digital TV signals.

The lucky owners of this TV will have approximately eight months to enjoy its 7” widescreen display, on-screen menus, and car-lighter-or-battery-powered portability (batteries not included), in their choice of black or silver models. After that, it turns into the world’s most futuristic-looking doorstop, unless the enraged masses rise up and overturn the DTV diktat. We’ve got a couple of pitchforks if you want to borrow them.
