And you know you only get to bring one item, right? That’s the rule. You don’t get to magically transport to your apartment to get something else or find some cache of supplies left by the island’s previous inhabitants. You get only one single solitary item with which to make your fortune on the remote desert island you’re trapped on. Just so we’re clear.

Because I’d understand if you chose a machete or maybe one of those multi-tool things. Even bringing your favorite book or a bottle of really nice scotch would work. But I have to admit, bringing along something you can use to charge many of the latest portable devices is… Well, it certainly is novel.

It’s just that you won’t actually be needing the interchangeable Mini USB, Micro USB, and 30-Pin connector tips for anything since you didn’t bring any portable devices with you. No iPod or iPhone, no GPS, camcorder, or video game unit, just the charger. And this is not a judgement of your choice at all, but you might have some trouble finding a wall to plug the Wall Charger into, what with the island not having anything resembling civilization on it. So given the hypothetical situation, I’m just saying that you might want to change your answer.

I see. You’d like to bring the Car Charger version instead of the Wall Charger now. Sure. You’re right. There’s probably a much better chance of an automobile with a working battery being on the island than a working wall outlet. I totally get it now.
