We’re not sure what iGo is referring to with the name “WallPower”. Are they riffing on the idea of willpower, to say that with this device you can power your mobile phone, Smartphone, PDA/handheld and some Bluetooth-enabled devices at will? Or are they using rhyme to evoke the term “wallflower”? Yeah, sure, the WallPower clings to the wall when you plug it into a standard AC outlet. But isn’t that timid image at odds with its go-anywhere, road-warrior ethic? Maybe they weren’t intending “WallPower” as a reference to anything, just as a catchy, descriptive name on its own merits. Problem is, it’s not that catchy, or descriptive, or meritorious.

We give this incoherent, lifeless product name a C-minus. At least iGo’s product-design people are a little more on-the-ball than their product-naming people. Weighing in at a mere six ounces, the iGo WallPower 2000 is a single-adapter approach to your multiple-device lifestyle. It includes 5 tips for LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sprint mobile phones, and to power other devices, you can go straight to iGo for additional interchangeable iTips (sold separately – or should that be iSold iSeparately?). The iGo WallPower converts regular old AC power into the kind of juice your device thirsts after. And nobody says you can’t call your two units whatever you want – we call ours “Conor” and “Jerametrius”.
