Deep within the cavernous subreaches of his remote Bavarian castle, Baron Gunther von Kord sneered deliciously at his prey and felt the thrill of impending victory. He'd like to see Transifax Systems Corp. accounting supervisor Jan Stickley get out of this one! The hapless middle-manager fought furiously against the wires binding her to her workstation, to no avail. "I assure you, Miss Stickley, there's no point in struggling," the Baron taunted. "Your only hope of escape lies in breaking the cables - and should you succeed, you will be left without a means of entering data into your computer."

"You monster!" Stickley screamed. "How do you expect me to run the quarterly reports if I can't interact with our proprietary accounting system?"

"I don't, Miss Stickley. I expect you to -"

"Not so fast, you wire-loving lunatic!" From a shadowy side-passage leapt an apparition out of von Kord's nightmares: the Inland Wireless Keyboard and Optical Mouse! The duo that had thwarted von Kord's most brilliant schemes, back again to frustrate their nemesis!

"It can't be!" von Kord sputtered. "You were -"

"Dead?," laughed the Wireless Keyboard. "Obsolete inventory never dies - it just moves to woot.com!" Turning to his sidekick the Optical Mouse, he commanded "You free the girl, little buddy. I'll have a dance or two with this feeble old fascist!"

"Gotcha, W.K.!" the Optical Mouse replied, slicing through the wires to the thanks of a grateful Jan Stickley. After von Kord was pummeled into a vaguely pinkish pudding on the stone floor, the Optical Mouse and Wireless Keyboard put themselves at her service, in the name of the quarterly reports.

"Say, Jan, one thing," the Wireless Keyboard warned. "We're sure you'll enjoy the wireless freedom we offer, but, see, we only have a five-foot wireless range. Sorry, it's just that we're not that well-made, so yeah, five feet is our maximum range."

Breathless with gratitude, Stickley shrugged the apology off. "That's still longer than the wires I used to use. And your breath doesn't reek of sauerbraten and hefeweizen. Thank you, Inland Wireless Keyboard and Optical Mouse!"
