We know this dude who’s constantly chasing a midcentury time-travel buzz, trying to trick himself into believing that it’s 1956. He smokes nothing but Lucky Strikes and listens to nothing but LPs and 45s. When he eats out, it’s gotta be at a diner with a real Formica-and-chrome counter. His house looks like Rob & Laura Petrie live there. But there’s one problem: authentic period TVs are hard to find, and if you can get ahold of one, the picture is crap. So he covered the non-screen parts of his TV in leopard-print fake fur. Never mind that it was hideously garish, and that no ‘50s TV ever looked like that – in his retro-addled brain, that sticky-backed leopardskin warded off the demons of the 21st century.

We can only imagine that the Logitech 931522-0403 Leopard Mouse is aimed at the same kind of vintage-obsessed types, who care enough about retro style to spend money for something like this, but not enough to give up using a computer. Beyond its leopardine exerior, its USB connection and small form factor make it a swell option for notebooks and desktops alike. We just don’t think its design is going to appeal to a very wide slice of the computing market.

Oh, wait. Logitech suggests that the Leopard Mouse is intended for kids. OK, well, that makes a little more sense.
