Setting The Record Straight

Before buying a laptop, it's best to know that you're actually buying a laptop, so here you go: this is a laptop.

We've had some recent problems here at Woot HQ with CERTAIN UNNAMED INDIVIDUALS seeing that we're selling a Toshiba Satellite Laptop and thinking that we're actually selling a satellite. We can't stress this enough: this is a laptop.

Yes, it's called a Toshiba Satellite, but it's also called a 15.6" Quad-Core AMD A8 Laptop. This means it's great for using as a computer. This DOES NOT MEAN it's great for throwing in the air and hoping it'll suddenly start to orbit around the planet. Why? Again: it's a laptop. That would be why, when tossed in the air, even after nearly a hundred attempts, it has come crashing to the ground each time.

We don't want to downplay the significance of this laptop. It does several wonderful things. It's got Windows 8, a SuperMulti DVD±RW drive, USB 2.0 and 3.0, and an HD TruBrite LED-backlit display. Yes, those are only a FEW of its many features. But still, those are features for a laptop.

So, in conclusion, if you need a laptop, you might want to buy this. But if you are looking for a satellite that you can launch into space, this is a totally different thing. We trust you know that, but as we've learned this week at our office, not everyone does, so we just thought we'd be thoroughly clear.
