It’s a shame Toshiba went and manufactured all these notebook PCs before they noticed there was a typo on the case. At least, we’re assuming that’s why the Qosmio Media Center Notebook was available to us so cheap. Come on, they couldn’t have really meant to give it an ungainly, ungodly gibberish name like Qosmio, could they?

After all, a laptop this hardy and feature-rich deserves a dignified, dynamic moniker – or at least one that a typical English speaker might be able to pronounce. It’s got built-in TV tuner and DVR functionality, for crying out loud! And that’s not even mentioning the dual hard drives combined to give you 100GB of storage, the 1.8 GHz Pentium M Centrino processor, integrated 802.11g wireless and Bluetooth, and Windows XP Media Center 2005. If the vivid 17” TruBrite WXGA LCD isn’t big enough for you, use the S-Video ports to hook this mug up to your TV. There’s pretty much nothing we’d improve about the Qosmio Media Center Notebook PC - except the name. We can’t decide whether to call ours “Flint,” “Hercules,” or “Ozzy.”
