It gets its rich blue hue from a dying process developed for the garments of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, which takes nearly a decade to complete and involves just over three gallons of melted sapphires. That apparently incoherent jumble of letters and symbols actually says “welcome”; it’s just in a language that you don’t understand, nor does anyone alive, except for me and the enterprising etymologist whom I paid to develop it based on the subtleties of my personality.
So, yes, the four Zmodo Weatherproof Cameras that look down on you as you enter my home, feeding your image into the standalone DVR, are not to monitor who you are; they’re there to watch how you interact with my six-figure welcome mat. Whether it’s the middle of the night or the middle of a snow storm (snow not only melts but also evaporates upon contact; I’ve often used the mat to “plow” out my driveway), whether I’m watching it on a computer monitor or on my smart phone thanks to Remote View, I can feel comfortable that my welcome mat is safe. Because you never know when its panic sensing electro-shock security system might go on the fritz.
Yes, I can sleep easy thanks to those four cameras. For now. I fully anticipate getting some more when I buy that bath mat I’ve had my eyes on. I’ve finally saved up enough cash; now I just need to wait for the FDA to deem it “legal to sell” in the United States.
