It has finally come! After many years of whining and crying from customers, moderators, and staff alike, Woot is getting NEW FORUMS! That's right, later this week you'll see spiffy new forums.
To catch some of you up, our poor community forums haven't been updated in well over a decade. The current forums are held together by duct tape and some loose wires. Maybe not even that. As best as we can tell, our ancient forums originated from a beta code base that never saw the light of day as a real product. We don't dare add any features or make changes for fear of breaking them forever.
But that's all about to change BECAUSE WE HAVE NEW FORUMS. Over the next 3 days, there will be a daily blog to introduce you to the new forum, its organization, and how easy it will be to use. Today, we're giving you a peek at the feature in these ALL-NEW FORUMS. These NEW, FANCY FORUMS are chock full of the features many Wooters have requested for years. You can add images by just dragging and dropping the images or adding the URL. You can change formatting really easily. You can use the forums on mobile You'll even be able to delete your own posts! Egads, so many features yet so easy to use in the BRAND-NEW WOOT! FORUMS. Just take a look:

Let’s Have Fun Learning about the New Forums
Now, many of you veterans use the forums to read and participate in product discussions, and you will not likely notice that much of a difference in accessing and reading the forums. There will still be a “Discuss this Deal” button that will take you to the forum and you can click on the title in the top post to return to the sale. We are very excited about the whole new look and feel, and we think you will appreciate the changes, which we will discuss in depth over the next couple days. Wanna see how it will look? Let’s go!
If you choose to explore in the forum area, you will see five (5) categories:
Deal Chatter – Here is where all the deal discussions will live. You can grin, gripe, and guess about all the great deals on Woot.com. In the old forums, you saw the deals on the Woots tab on each category page but now the deals will live together. You can easily filter the deal discussions you want to view. For example, you could choose to look at only the discussions on Computers or Shirts.
Shenanigans – Let’s get wacky up in here! This new category will be the new home of our fun and mischief. You will find familiar threads here such as Polls and The Debunker. In addition, our current shenanigans will live here such as WTF Pricing and Deal-o-Meter (and you can look forward to new shenanigans in the future!). Plus, this felt like the perfect place for the Shirt Derby to help even more people view and vote in the derby!
Artists Central – This area is for our Shirt artists and wanna be artists. Look here for derby talk, questions and answers on shirt design, and more.
Everything But Woot – This is section should sound familiar. This will be the home of community created games and chats. It is a great place to relax and get to know other Wooters!
Mort & Monte’s Info Desk – The Main Monkeys, here at your service! Here you will find Woot! announcements and information. There will be a set of “How to” blogs on how to use the forums and how to post.
Best news of all, the posts from the old forums are being migrated to the new forums! From deal discussions to community games and chats, all your friends and fun will be there.
Even better news! You'll be able to easily read and post from your phones and tablets. FINALLY!
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PRIVATE MESSAGES: Due to our privacy policies, we are unable to move over private messages. If you have anything important in your private messages, make sure you preserve those notes via screen shots or copy/paste to Word or something similar.
